What is hypnosis?

Hypnosis is a natural state of mind that we all experience every day. We go in and out of hypnosis several times a day, such as when we are driving and then can't remember the last few miles, or when we are so focused on a task that we lose track of time.

In hypnosis, we are able to bypass the conscious mind and access the subconscious mind, which is where all of our programming and beliefs are stored. This is why hypnosis is so effective in creating lasting change - we are able to reprogram the subconscious mind with new, positive suggestions that align with our goals.

What does hypnosis feel like?

There is no one answer to this question, as hypnosis feels different for everyone. Some people feel light and tingly, while others feel a heavy, relaxed feeling of comfort. Some people feel like they're floating, some even feel as if they’ve gotten 8 hours sleep in 15 minutes, and others don't experience any physical feelings other than a sense of calm with their eyes closed.

Generally speaking, most people report feeling very calm and at ease during hypnosis.

Can anyone be hypnotized?

Yes! Anyone who wants to be hypnotized can be. The only exception to this are people with certain mental health conditions, such as schizophrenia. If you have any concerns about whether or not you can be hypnotized, please feel free to contact me.

Will I lose control in hypnosis?

No, you will not lose control in hypnosis. You are always aware and in control of your surroundings and your body. You cannot be forced to do anything you don’t want to do nor say anything you don’t want to say. You will remember everything that happens during hypnosis, and you can come out of hypnosis at any time you want to.

How many sessions will I need to see results?

The number of sessions needed varies from person to person, depending on the issue being addressed and the individual's response to hypnosis. Generally speaking, most people see results after 3-6 sessions.

How long does a session last?

Sessions usually last between 60-90 minutes. The first session will be longer as we will spend some time getting to know each other and discussing your goals for hypnosis.

What can I expect during a session?

During a session, we will first discuss your goals and what you would like to achieve. We will then do a short relaxation exercise to help you get into a state of hypnosis. Once you are in hypnosis, I will give you positive suggestions that align with your goals. The session will end with a short debriefing where we will discuss any insights or changes you experienced during the session.

What do I need to do to prepare for a session?

It is helpful to come to the session with an open mind and a willingness to change. Other than that, there is no preparation needed. Just show up and be ready to relax and let go!
