Are you trying to find the courage to solo travel?

After my engagement ended, I had big dreams of traveling. The only problem was... there were a handful of fears, obstacles, and limiting beliefs that I had to overcome to live a lifestyle that I wanted.

You see the beautiful pictures of my travels online, but what you don’t see is how I have to find that bravery.

So in this episode, I’m taking you behind the scenes of the conditioning I had to overcome to go from rarely traveling to solo traveling. I share how I overcame my fears, my #fails during my trips (it’s not all glamorous!), and encouragement and tips you need to start solo traveling yourself.

This is for all you that feel like you need permission, are holding yourself back, and are saying you aren’t brave enough to start.

Hint: You are brave enough, you just have to uncover the courage 🙂

How to Face Your Fears and Solo Travel

Solo travel has become increasingly popular in recent years, but for many people, the idea of traveling alone can be overwhelming. It’s natural to feel some fear when venturing out into the unknown, but there are a few steps you can take to build your confidence and make solo travel an exciting and rewarding experience. This article will discuss how to face your fears and conquer solo travel.

Building Self-Confidence

At the root of our fears of traveling alone is often low self-confidence. We don’t believe in ourselves enough to trust that we can handle whatever comes our way while travelling. This fear is understandable, but there are plenty of ways to build our confidence so that we can move past it.

1. Take small risks

One way is by taking small risks. Start by challenging yourself with something manageable, like talking to someone at the bus station or asking for directions in a new city. Once you do this successfully, your confidence will start to grow—and soon enough, you’ll be ready for more ambitious risks like booking a one-way flight or taking an overnight train alone.

2. Start small

If the thought of flying across the world alone intimidates you, start small. Take a day trip somewhere close to home or book an overnight stay at a nearby hotel. This can help you get used to the feeling of being away from home without having too many responsibilities or commitments. You can also use this as an opportunity to practice talking with strangers and being comfortable in unfamiliar environments.

3. Research Your Destination

Doing research on your destination is one of the best ways to prepare for solo travel. Make sure you know what kind of weather to expect, what activities you might want to do, what restaurants are nearby, and any other information that could help you feel more secure about your journey ahead. By researching your destination beforehand, you can reduce the amount of time spent worrying and spend more time enjoying yourself!

4. Connect with People Beforehand

One of the best parts about solo travel is meeting new people along the way! To increase your chances of making connections before arriving at your destination, join online forums and local groups related to your interests or hobbies that focus on travelers in your area. You can also reach out directly via social media or email if there’s someone specific you’d like to meet during your travels.

5. Trust Yourself & Ask For Help When Needed

You should always trust yourself; after all, no one knows better than yourself how capable and capable you are of handling different situations! But also don’t hesitate to ask for help when needed—whether it's directions in an unfamiliar area or advice on how best to navigate a certain situation (like haggling at markets!) Asking strangers for help can sound daunting but remember that everyone was once a stranger too!

With some self-confidence building exercises and smart packing decisions, there's no reason why anyone should miss out on experiencing the world through traveling alone.
