Episode transcript:
Hey everyone, I'm Adreanna, and I am beyond thrilled to welcome you to the very first episode of "Loving My Wild," the podcast that's all about personal growth, self-discovery, and unlocking your true potential.
But before we dive into all the juicy topics we'll be covering, I want to take a moment to introduce myself. I'm Adreanna, a certified hypnotherapist - trained in helping people uncover the root cause of their issues, release limiting beliefs and step into their power through self-exploration. I've been doing personal development work since I was 11 years old when I was introduced to the book the Secret and manifested my very own iPod and my mind was blown at the fact that we're not just a victim to our circumstances, and that you can change your thoughts and behaviors to get more out of your life. Deep for an 11 year old I know haha and probably where my deep, introspective side started
So, needless to say, it's been a few years since I began this journey of personal development and transformation - with highs , lows, and a few tears in between. I'm so excited to be here today and share my story and the lessons I've learned on this journey with you all.
Update with where I've been
I've been absolutely itching to get back into the podcast. And I mean back into it because for those of you that don't know, I actually started this podcast 3 years ago and I absolutely fell in love with it...but I had quite a few layers I needed to unpack before I could fully commit to it. And those layers took 3 years haha. Yes but no. In that time, I had just got into a new relationship that I was wanting to put my energy towards, I moved around the country a few times, and I went back to school to get my certification in hypnotherapy. So my 3 year break was intentional, but there were definitely a lot of layers I needed to work through. Layers of perfectionism, fear of failure, fear of success, so much anxiety around using my voice and showing up as myself. I embraced it all and knew that all of the challenges were pushing me to be the version of myself I needed to be in order to make my dreams a reality, but...doesn't mean it was easy or fun.
So, life threw me some curveballs and I was faced with a ton of limiting beliefs that I needed to work through. But now, I'm back, stronger than ever, not perfect but stronger, ready to share my wisdom and experiences with all of you.
So that is a little bit of the backstory for those that do know me and have been here with me since the start, but for those that are new here hi, hello and welcome!
My story and background
I'll give you the 4-1-1 on who I am. I'm going to do an episode with my story in more detail, but I'll give you the cliffnotes for today.
I've always had a passion for understanding the human mind and exploring human behavior and why we do the things we do and how it affects us. Like I said earlier, I've just always been fascinated with the fact that we can change our lives. This idea that you can be the architect of your life, you can draw out the plans, you can take actions, you can build the roads you need to get to the destinations you want.
And I think I became so fascinated by it because I spent a lot of my childhood wishing things were different, and when the idea was taught to me that life doesnt have to be what you see, you can make changes, I think it gave me hope in moments when I felt really low.
As a child I spent a lot of time living in my own loneliness and confusion as to why I didn't feel loved. I was loved, but my parents were immigrants so the way they showed their love was different than what I was seeing other parents doing at school or on movies. They provided for me and their main concern was making sure we had food on the table, a house to live in, and their main priority was putting money into a college fund so that they could set my future up for success. And I knew logically I was loved, but I was just always confused on why I didn't feeeeeeel loved. And it was because as a kid I couldn't understand, I couldn't understand that first of all, what you see in the movies isn't reality.
And I couldn't grasp my parents' differences in how they showed up emotionally, or their lifestyle preferences, or their values and priorities were different than other people's. I just knew that other kids were going to disney world and I wasn't and the meaning I placed on that was that I wasn't loved and that I wasn't meant to have this exciting life that other kids did. And at the same time my parents couldnt grasp why i was "ungrateful" and wanted more when they were already giving me everything they could to have a successful future.
So I grew up in an environment where I often felt misunderstood and like I couldn't be who I was, which led to me suppressing parts of myself. And I also inflated a lot of parts of myself that I thought I needed to be in order to fit in or seem cool. And I struggled with navigating all of this self-doubt and insecurity, especially as a teenager.
Most of my teenage years were spent trying to suppress these feelings of not being understood and seen and loved and worthy and cool, and all of these things.
And I tried dealing with all of these feelings my reading books. Back then the self help world isn't what it's like today. There wasn't much information out on the internet, and the self help section of barnes and nobles was pretty limited to like one aisle. now its like the entire back wall and like 87 pages deep on amazon. But I spent a lot of my time in high school and college sitting at barnes and nobles and trying to figure out what I needed to change about myself to feel better about myself, feel better about my life.
So I think my passion for personal development definitely started from a wounded place, I was using it as a way to heal, a way to learn how to love myself and accept who I was and figure out what I wanted out of life.
Thats why now, my mission is to help you figure out the answers to those same questions. To find your own version of success, fulfillment and joy; to help you leverage the power of personal development for greater self-awareness, clarity and direction. To build your own roadmap to success so you can start creating the life that you want and design a future that feels fulfilling and meaningful.
So yeah, thats why I'm here, and why I'm doing this podcast-because all of my journey has been leading me here. It's been full of highs and lows, successes and failures, moments of clarity and moments of darkness, but through it all I've learnt one thing- if we can focus on our mental wellbeing, use the power of personal development to get out of our own way and into alignment with what we want, then anything is possible.
So I'm here to share my experiences, stories, strategies and lessons that I have learnt along this journey so you can step into your power, love yourself and live a life of joy and fulfillment.

My hope is that this podcast can be a space of open and honest conversation, to help us all find our true purpose and create the life we really want.
And let me tell you, my friends, this is an important conversation to have in today's world. We live in a society that constantly bombards us with messages telling us who we should be, what we should want, and how we should live our lives. It's time to break free from those chains and step into our power.

Goals for the show
I'm hoping to create the space that I wanted all those years ago, and a space that I'm still craving for myself. One where we can just hang out and have deep conversations about things that matter, and talk about the ups and downs, and breaking the illusions social media have created on being perfect and living a reality thats not realistic about being happy and positive all the time, and everything being beautiful butterflies and rainbows.
So that's my aim, and I hope that you'll join me.
The show will feature conversations with inspiring guests from all walks of life – from psychologists and life coaches to spiritual guides and energy healers - where we'll dig deep and explore how they overcame their own struggles and found success. They'll be sharing their wisdom, experiences, and practical tips that you can implement in your own life.
I'll also be having a ton of solo podcasts where I'm sharing things that I've learned, not just education wise but also lessons that I had to learn the hard way. I want to have episodes where I'm sharing the raw, unfiltered mess that shows up in my own life and how I've worked through it.
I'll also talk about different topics such as self-love, confidence building, healing trauma, harnessing the law of attraction, mastering your mindset, finding your purpose, and so much more.
I've got some big, big plans and my goal is to provide listeners with the tools, information and resources to help them on their own journey of self-discovery – whether it be through my conversations with guests or simply by listening in and relating to stories that resonate.
I'll be releasing new episodes every week, so make sure you subscribe to the podcast on your favorite streaming platforms so that you don't miss out.
